Mange your data

Using Google

  • Set up an email account with gmail
  • Set up the following on desktop and phone – 15 gig storage free for each gmail account. (Upgrade to Google One is $2/month for 100 GB)
    • Gmail
    • Google Keep for you notes and reminders
    • Google Drive to store your files
    • Google photo to store your photo
  • Don’t forget Google also owns Google map, YouTube, Android, Chrome, Google search, Google translate, Google voice. Google definitely knows more about you than yourself. Good grief!

Other options

  • Use Proton Mail based in Switzerland for your more secure communications.
  • Use a different service such as Microsoft:
    • Outlook for your email
    • Onedrive to store your data – 5Gig free, $2/month for each extra 200GB
    • Onenote as your notebook
    • Of course Microsoft owns Windows, Office, Bing. it is not as extensive as Google.
  • Apple also offers similar services

Google and Microsoft still offer the most comprehensive set of tools. My personal bias is Google tools are just easier to use.

You may use a combination of above. Whatever you use, it is hard to avoid Android, Windows, IOS, Google search and Google map watching over your shoulders.
